This evening we had a simple BBQ dinner with our neighbors so I decided to take out the Nikon camera I borrowed for an upcoming wedding and get some practicing in. In preparation, I've started shooting in RAW ... a new experience for me, but I'm really starting to like it:)
After the BBQ it was time for our daughter to go to bed... but not without her bubble bath, which I made in the kitchen sink so I could watch my husband play hide and seek with the kids!
Yesterday was such a beautiful day. My husband decided that it was time to hit the beach for the first time this year. It was also the first time my daughter has ever been to the beach. I brought my camera, hoping to catch some amazing first-time photos of my daugher but when I turned on the camera I realized that my batteries were low. I was able to get a few shots in ... This one was my favourite (she just couldn't get enough of the feeling of the sand in her fingers) :)
This past weekend we attended my nephew's first birthday party. I can't believe how fast this year has gone. He was such a little cutie, loving every minute of HIS day! Then it was time to blow out the candle and get messy with the cake - At first he was so cautious about the birthday cake that he didn't know what to do.... he just gently put his finger in the icing and tried it. After that, he was all over it:)
This morning I took a look out our living room window and fell in love with the tree out back. It was so beautiful in the sun that I couldn't resist grabbing my camera and baby and taking a few pictures :)
This past weekend we went camping with some friends and had a blast. The location was amazing and the kids had a blast playing by the water ... and the sunset's were to die for!!! After seeing one sunset by the lake I knew I had to have some fun the next evening. I have always wanted to take pictures in the sunset ... I love the way it looks .... below (in the mix of pictures are some of my attempts. Enjoy :)
Little Maddi just turned seven months old yesterday and to kick off a new month she decided to start climbing in her crib. She isn't able to crawl yet, but she has started pulling herself up on her hands and knees when she is in a sitting position ... but I wasn't expecting to see her pull herself up while in the crib in a sitting position - I guess it's time to put the rail a bit higher!
As per our annual tradition we packed up the family and took our first camping trip this past May Long Weekend. This year we gathered with our usual crew and met some new faces. We hit it luxury style in my brother-in-laws new camper, which was a bonus considering the snow (almost a foot deep) that hit us our last day camping. Crazy Alberta weather !!!
This was our campsite the day we arrived (thursday)
And this was the campsite Monday morning ... eek!!!
